Hoot Hoot

Well well, look at me turning a bad nails day into a not so bad nails after all day. :D

I was just removing my Kiss Kiss manicure respectively the stamping and polished an additional coat onto the already existing ones since they got a little sheer after wiping my nails. I wanted to keep the colour because it is so nice. Also this was quicker than redoing all the nails all over again. :D

So again Hi, Society! by Catrice as a basecolour. Two coats turn out opaque.

Catrice Cruise Couture LE C01 - Hi, Society!

Then using my new Bundle Monster image plates I stamped the images with Konad special polish in black.

Left hand: Bundle Monster image plates BM-309 and BM-314

I sealed the design with my gel-look topcoat by essence which works great for stamped images.

Right hand: Bundle Monster image plates BM-309 and BM-314

I already tried this mani before in blue and white but somehow I did not like it. It appeared flamboyant to me. But here is my first attempt for you to see anyway. ^^

essence c&g 128 let's get lost, ringfinger: essence c&g 129 the boy next door

essence nail art stampy polish white, BM-309

Somehow I am surprised by how different those two manis look although this is not surprising at all. :D

Aren't those owls just adorable?! I love them they are sooo cute. ^^

It makes me very happy that I could turn the failed manicure from before around into a success. :D

So thanks for reading me again. ^^ See you next time. :)

PS: I totally hate it when you write a blogpost in this post editor thingy and then you see the preview and the layout looks nothing like in the post you created with the arrangement of the text and posts and stuff like that... I am SO annoyed right now. This happens way too often. And it won't go away until you publish and edit the post... :/  Well at least NOW it looks neat. ^^

2nd Award

So guess what! :D I was given an award (again). This award was already given to me some days ago but someone else thought of me aswell. It was Sanni from Colourful Box.

I <3 your blog. award the second

It is so nice that other people appreciate your work and I am so happy that she thought of me. I wish I had found her blog adress when I was looking for people to tag.

It's almost ridiculous how happy I am about other people following me and/or being interested in what I have to write and/or show.

So thanks to all my followers for your time spend on my blog. I hope I can keep you interested. ^^

Edit: Look at me making grammatical errors in public. :D I just learned that I cannot be awarded because that verb is transitive. So I changed it. I hope it's correct now. ^^

Kiss Kiss

I wanted to do this design for some time now and now that I did it it kinda disappoints me because it does not look the way I imagined it. And I don't know what the problem is. So here I am sharing my bad nail day with you. ^^

The basecolour is Hi, Society! by Catrice. It was on sale some time ago and since I didn't have a peachy polish back then I bought it. Here are impressions in daylight and in artificial light.

Catrice Cruise Couture LE C01 - Hi, Society!, artificial light

There is a liiittle shimmer in this colour but you almost can't see it.

Catrice Cruise Couture LE C01 - Hi, Society!, day light

I think this is just a little too messy for my taste. I like my nails to look pretty much all the same.

Bundle Monster BM-303, MJ image plate, Cheeky CH 17 + CH29

Accents are okay, accents looking different are also fine but every nail looking different is just too much even if they are all the same topic. At least in this case. ^^

Bundle Monster BM-303, MJ image plate, Cheeky CH 17

Love the basecolor though. :D

Let me know what you think. If you have any questions please leave a comment aswell. ^^

Thanks for reading. Bye. :)

Into Blue

Lately I am totally into blue nail polishes. Maybe it's because of the new essence colour&go polishes I got but who knows. So I was playing around with some polish the other day and this is the result: a blue gradient or ombre nails. I really don't know how to call it. I only know this style as gradient nails but I read that they are called ombre nails aswell.

Clockwise starting from index finger: 127 i love bad boys, 128 let's get lost 129 the boy next door, 126 date in the moonlight, 53 you belong to me, all colour & go polishes by essence

I like the gradient with several colours over the single nail more than the gradient over all five nails. Although it is a good way to use more nail polishes at once. :D

I wondered if there was an easier way to create a gradient with several colours on one nail than with a make up sponge. And with that thought in mind I came across Bundle Monster image plate BM-301.
Since I don't have stamping polishes in different shades of blue I decided to give it a try with regular polish. To my surprise it worked pretty well. But I decided to try it out on one nail first before I have to overdo all my nails.

Basecolour: essence colour&go 53 you belong to me

First layer: essence colour&go 127 i love bad boys

Second layer: essence colour&go 128 let's get lost

Third layer: essence colour&go 129 the boy next door

Fourth layer: essence colour&go 126 date in the moonlight

When I noticed that this way to create a gradient went well I decided to do this on my other nails aswell.

Basecolour: essence colour&go 53 you belong to me

Blue gradient nails with BM-301

Does not look too bad, does it? It sure does not make such a mess like the make up sponge method although the gradient is not that smooth.

And now I wonder what I could do with this now... ^^

Tendrils On Caramel

I feel like I have not blogged properly for some time now. This is why I have another nail art for you today. It is simple but nonetheless very pretty and elegant.

I started off with a basecoat to protect my nails. Then I applied two coats of 123 1000 miles away by essence to make it opaque. I loooove this colour. It reminds me of caramel. I'm so into nude and earthy colours and I don't know why.

essence colour & go 123 1000 miles away

After the basecolour has dried completely I stamped the shown design using Bundle Monster image plate BM-309 with Konad Special Nail Polish in black.

essence 123 1000 miles away, Bundle Monster image plate BM-309, Konad Special Polish black

On my pinkie finger I applied the quick dry topcoat by essence. I used to love this as a topcoat for stamped nail arts but it seems like I changed my mind about it. It totally smudged the design and it was so runny it almost got away from me. I could not handle it and now I will use it as a basecoat instead.

Tendrils on caramel, artificial light

That's the reason why I used the gel-look topcoat by essence for my other nails and for stamped nail arts in general. I like the thick texture and the soft brush. This makes it almost impossible to smudge the design. The topcoat blends all colours together and adds a beautiful shine to the manicure.

Tendrils on caramel, artificial light

The design does not have a chiral pair so you have the same design on all your nails. It's not that sad but I would have liked the matching pair.

I hope you like today's manicure. If you have any questions please leave a comment below and I will make sure to get back to you.

Thanks for reading. See you next time. :)

[Review] Bundle Monster Image Plates Set 3

Hey everyone,

it's review time again. :) This one will be about the eagerly awaited third set of image plates by Bundle Monster. So let's get started.

The third set of Bundle Monster image plates for stamping nail art contains 25 image plates. The image plates are made of stainless steel and have a shiny, glossy finish (according to Bundle Monster). Each image plate contains six designs totalling 150 designs in this set. There are two image plates with six french tip designs on them totalling twelve french tip images in this set. It sometimes is kind of hard to tell the full nail images apart from the single motifs since some of the single motifs are so big.In general I'd say the full nail images are in the majority followed by the single motifs.

The image plates came in this plastic box which is very robust. I love this thing! I use it to store my image plates in it. This is so handy.

Bundle Monster image plates in plastic box

All image plates had a blue protective cover on them which has to be removed before use. Removing the protective cover from the image plates was harder than I expected and knew from the previous set(s). But once I had the hang of it it went pretty well. No residues were left on the plates.

Bundle Monster image plates with blue protective cover

All image plates have the paper backing you might know from the previous set. This protects your sufaces from getting scratched and also takes away any sharp edges which makes it hard for you to hurt yourself on them.

Bundle Monster image plate with paper backing

The image plates measure about 5,6 cm in mean diameter.

Bundle Monster image plate about 5,6 cm in mean diameter

The full nail images measure about 1,3 cm in width...

Bundle Monster image plate, full nail image about 1,3 cm in width

and about 1,7 cm in length. This is the same size the full nail images from the previous set have.

Bundle Monster image plate, full nail image about 1,7 cm in length

The french tips measuer about 1,6 cm in width....

Bundle Monster image plate, french tip about 1,6 cm in width

and about 0,7 cm in length at the edge and about 0,8 cm in lenght in the middle of the french tip. The single motifs vary in their size.

Bundle Monster image plate, french tip about 0,7 cm in length at the edge

Bundle Monster image plate, french tip about 0,8 cm in length in the middle

Something I noticed while using the image plates is that they are hard to clean. They have rough edges on the images and lints from the cotton pad get stuck on those edges while cleaning the image plate with remover. Somehow a black/white shade remains in the engraved parts (depending which stamping polish you use) and it just wont go away no matter how many polish remover I use. This reminded me of the Red Angel image plates which show the same "behaviour". The image plates from the second Bundle Monster set did not have this "problem". It's not really a problem. I didn't notice any negative impact on the stamping results or anything but you know... I like to have my plates clean. :D

Another thing I noticed while swatching the image plates was that I have two defective ones. I contacted the Bundle Monster support about this and they reacted promptly saying they will replace the defective plates. I actually did not want to write the review until I got the replacement but then again I did not want to wait because who knows how long this will take and now here you are reading my review. ;) I will edit this post as soon as I receive the new image plates.

Other than the mentioned image plates all images come up crips and clear and I had no problems with them.

Talking about swatches: if you want to see them, you can extend this post at the bottom to see more.

If you are interested I already made my first manicure with the new set. Click here for Summer Time!

I hope this review was helpful to you. If you have any questions please don't hestitate to ask and leave a comment below. I'll make sure to get back to you as soon as I can.

I'm sorry if this got a little messy at the end but I'm not sure if I can still think straight right now.

Edit July 26: The replacements for my defective plates arrived today. I waited for them one week which is absolutely okay considering that they come from Honolulu, Hawaii. BUBBLE WRAAAAAAAAAAAAP! =D Okay, after destroying the bubble wrap I swatched the replacements and they work flawless. I put the pictures into the section below, you can find them if you "Read more..." along with the other close up shots and swatches.

Thanks for reading. :)

My First China Glaze Polishes

I went shopping today. I'm not a shopaholic and I'm not in denial either! Just saying to clarify... :D
I happened to go shopping with my parents today and we were in this giant mall where we spent all day and all in all it was a very nice day. To my Mom's great disapproval I found a place where they sold China Glaze polishes, 2 for 1, yay! So I bought one and I was sooooo happy that I could finally call two China Glaze polishes my own.

China Glaze 962 Senorita Bonita (left), China Glaze 150 Heart Of Africa

I went home, I swatched the polishes on the nail wheel, I wondered why they smell so funny. Looking at the bottles I noticed the label saying "Nail Lacquer WITH HARDENERS" which made me very suspicious. I read that most nail hardeners contain formaldehyde which is among other things under suspicion to agitate cancer. I did some research and found out that there is formaldehyde in China Glaze nail polishes. Totally spoiled the fun. I did some more research about the ingredients and read stuff like effects on the body like hormones and allergies and  aggravated air passages. That's not all but to shorten this I'd say there are some ingredients which are super bad for you.

I came to the conclusion that I have to get rid of the polishes. I know I'm not doing the best for my body by polishing my nails and using remover and stuff like that but I am aware of that and I made a choice.

And now I make another choice: I don't want is THIS. There is a point at which you have to draw a line and it has to stop. I would not feel good using the polishes and I feel so bad that I bought them at all.

It never even crossed my mind that there could be stuff like this in nail polish. I obviously am a little naive.

Dammit this is horrible. They say ignorance is bliss and it is so true. But once you start checking out stuff you can't stop just because you might not like the things you find out!

Anyway I will stop now. I've had enough for one day and I am still mad at myself for this whole thing.

Take care everyone. Thanks for reading.

Summer Time

Yay, it's Caturday! =D That means I have a new nail art design for you. I've been so looking forward to showing this to you. This is all about summer and cheerfulness and a cute little bumblebee. ^^

I started off with a basecoat and after letting that dry I applied two coats of 118 little miss sunshine by essence.

essence colour & go 118 little miss sunshine

After those two coats of polish have dried completely I stamped the bumblebee on Bundle Monster image plate BM-301 with Konad Special Nail Polish in black and drew the "flight path" of the bumblebee with the uma nail art pen in black.

I sponged a pink gradient with the essence colour&go nail polishes 106 free hugs, 108 ultimate pink and 132 break through on the free spots on those nails with the flight path and bigger parts on my index finger and thumb.

I started with the lightest pink and dabbed the colour onto the free spots.

pink gradient, lightest colour essence colour & go 106 free hugs

Then using a darker colour I sponged halfway up the lightest.

second pink halfway up, building the gradient with essence polish 108 ultimate pink

And with the darkest colour I went halfway up the second colour respectively just sponged the edges.

darkest colour, halfway up the second/sponged on the edges, essence 132 break through

Using BM-313 I stamped the single hibiscus flower in white on the pink gradient spots.

Bundle Monster image plate BM-313, single hibiscus flower

Using BM-318 I stamped the bigger hibiscus flower image on the pink gradients on my index finger and on my thumb. I finished off with a topcoat to blend the colours and seal in the design.

You can adjust the flight path of the bumble bee however you want. This is the design on my left hand.

Design on my left hand, slightly different
And that's it. This design gets me in the mood for summer and sunshine. It makes me happy just to look at the bright colours. :D

I hope you like this manicure, I sure do. ^^ If you have any questions concerning the products I used please leave a comment below and I'll make sure to get back to you.

Thanks for reading and see you next time. Bye! :)

[Swatches] More essence nail polishes

I must not go shopping because this is what I end up with: new nail polishes! :D
Some more swatches of the new colour & go polishes by essence. New nail design will be out on caturday. :3

This looks much too blueish on the photo when in reality it is a grey. :D I didn't even recognize it at first and kept looking through my polishes wondering which one it might be. I had to be this colour because it was one of the last pictures I took.
