Fifth Avenue Ladybug

Hey everyone, :)

welcome back to my blog. ;) This time I'll show you the ladybug design I promised you some time ago.

As basecolor I used two coats of this bright red by essie which is called "Fifth Avenue". I love red nail polish although I find it hard to apply it perfectly. Didn't do too bad this time... ^^

essie Fifth Avenue in daylight

I used a dotting tool to apply the dots with Metallic Black by Kleancolor which I used for the stamping aswell. I made seven dots on each nail just like there are seven dots on a ladybug.

I used the MJ image plate for the stamping which I bought here. Currently I am writing a review about it if you are interested in that.

I hope you enjoy this design as much as I do. It's nothing too elaborate but very cute nonetheless.

As always if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask and leave a comment below.

Thanks for joining me today and see you next time. :)

I couldn't get my hands on them yet but I am working on it. And as soon as I have them I will review them for you (of course ;D).

[Review] Bundle Monster Image Plates Set 2

Hey everyone :)

this is going to be a review of the second set of the Bundle Monster Nail Art Image Plates.

This set contains 25 image plates. They come with a blue protective cover and they all have a backing like in the first set. Unfortunately on some of the plates a part of the backing already starts to peel off. This does not impair its function though.

Detaching film on the backing

The image plates are also made of stainless steel and measure about 5,6 cm in mean diameter.

Image plate: about 5,6 cm in mean diameter

The full nail images measure 1,3 cm in width and 1,6 cm in length.

Full nail images: about 1,3 cm in width

Full nail images: about 1,6 cm in length

The french tips measure about 1,5 cm in width and 0,7 cm in length so Bundle Monster improved the size of their images in the second set. There are also single motifs but the full nail images are in the majority. You can find at least two on each plates except for the ones with the french tips on them.

French tip: about 1,5 cm in width

French tip: about 0,7 cm in length

All images are well engraved and pick up very good with the exception of one full nail image and one french tip which have very filigree lines and they are not deep enough so parts of them do not show properly. (Those are the exceptions I was able to find so far.) In general the detail of the images is another big improvement compared to their first set.

You can find six designs on each plate which makes 150 in total.

French tips, full nail images, single motifs

I bought this set because it has so many full nail images which I thought i would prefer over the small single ones but i don't know about that anymore. Anyway I like this set very much. :D

If you are interested in stamping nail art and consider buying the image plates you might wanna wait until about two weeks from now because then Bundle Monster will release their third set of image plates.

I hope this review was helpful to you. If you have any questions please let me know and leave a comment. I'll make sure to get back to you. ;)

[Review] Bundle Monster Image Plates Set 1

Hey everyone, :)

I am going to do a little review of the first set of Bundle Monster image plates.

All image plates had a blue protective cover on them which was easy to peel off and all image plates have a backing so you won't hurt yourself on sharp edges or scratch your surfaces with them. I heared that this is new and the first set did not have this backing at the beginning. But since I bought this set recently they seem to have that now.

The images on the plates vary between single motifs, french tips and full nail images.

Bundle Monster Set 1: Full nail images, single motifs, french tips

The images plates measure 5,6 cm in mean diameter.

5,6 cm in mean diameter

The french tips measure about 1,3 cm in width and 0,55 cm in length.

French tip: about 1,3 cm in width

French tip: about 0,5 cm in length

The full nail images measure about 1,0 cm in width and 1,4 cm in lenght whereas the single motifs vary in their size. If you have longer nails or wider nailbeds you are definetly going to have trouble with the size. The images probably won't match your nails and you will have to stamp parts to cover the whole nail.

Full nail images: about 1,4 cm in length

Full nail images: about 1,0 cm in width

The image plates are made of stainless steel and have a high polish finish. The images are either engraved or etched into the image plates but that is only my guess.

Sometimes I feel like some of the images are not deep enough so they wont pick up and transfer properly. I noticed that especially with the very filigree motifs. What I also noticed was that sometimes the image does not seem to be etched/engraved properly or detailed enough. An example for that would be the anchor on image plate BM08 which I used for a previous manicure (klick here to see the images). It just doesn't look like it is supposed to look that way. :D But mostly the images work just fine and show up well.

The first set contains 21 image plates with at least six designs and 139 designs in total. I bought this set because of the single/small designs which are in the majority in this set. They are so cute. ^^ I just wish the full nail images were bigger.

I bought these on ebay but they are available on amazon and also on the Bundle Monster homepage.

I hope this was helpful to you. If you have any questions please let me know and leave a comment. I'll make sure to get back to you. ;)

[Review] Cheeky Bundle of 26 Image Plates, Set 1

Hey everyone :)

today I am going to do a little review of the first set of Cheeky nail art image plates. I purchased them on amazon. This is the first set and it is a bundle of 26 image plates. They will be releasing another set in early-mid June.

The image plates are made of what I believe is stainless steel (my guess) which makes them very easy to clean. All plates have a backing so you won't get the chance hurt yourself on the edges or ruin your surfaces with scratchings. They come with a blue protective cover on them which is easy to remove. Any residues can be removed with nail polish remover (with acetone).

Backing

The image plates measure about 5,6 cm in mean diameter. Apart from full nail images you can find smaller single images on the plates as well as french tips.

Cheeky image plate: about 5,6 cm in mean diameter

The full nail images measure 1,3 cm in width and 1,6 cm in lenght.

Full nail image: about 1,3 cm in width

Full nail image: about 1,6 cm in length

The single images vary in their size, the french tip measure about 1,6 cm in width and 0,6 cm in length.

FrenchTips, about 1,6 cm in width

French Tips, about 0,6 cm in length

The images are either engraved or etched into the plates (I don't know about that, just another guess ^^). Anyhow the quality of the images is very very good. No matter how delicate the images are until now I had no problems picking them up or transferring them onto my nails. All images turn out crisp and clear (and I tried the ones in doubt first).
Edit: I found two images which are very hard to get to work since the thin lines are very shallow and you have to be very quick with the stamping before the polish dries. I did not use them before and it did not come to my mind that this image would not stamp (so well) until I used it. One is on image plate CH7 on the left and on CH12 the image on the right.

This set contains a huge variety of motifs, for example animal prints, dots, stripes, stars, flower patterns, fruits, candy, hearts, bows and so on... One image plate contains at least 6 images and you can find 160 designs on the plates in total. I am pretty sure anyone can find an image they will like in this set.

full nail images, smaller single designs, french tips

I only have 25 image plates instead of 26. Number 21 is missing from my set. When I contacted Cheeky Beauty about this they said they are not able to send me the missing plate but offered me a pampering gift which I was free to choose from a list they gave me. I thought that was very kind of them and I was very happy with that solution. :)

I definetly do not regret buying the image plates from Cheeky.

I hope this was helpful to you. If you have any questions please let me know and leave a comment. I'll make sure to get back to you. ;)

[Review] Cheeky Nail Art Jumbo Plates

Hey everyone :)

today I am going to do a little review of the the Cheeky Nail Art Jumbo Plates. I got them in a bundle of six plates.

These image plates are made of stainless steel which makes them very robust and easy to clean. They came with a blue protective cover on them which was easy to peel off.

Blue protective cover, peels easily off, no residues

They do not have a paper backing like the small ones but instead they are glued on a plastic plate which is just as easy to clean and it also makes the plates easy to handle as you won't find any sharp edges. The plastic plate measures 15,5 cm in width and 22 cm in length. The image plate measures slightly smaller with 14,5 cm in width and 21 cm in length.

Plastic plate: about 22 cm in length, image plate: about 21 cm in length

Plastic plate: about 15,5 cm in width, image plate: about 14,5 cm in width

The full nail images on the jumbo plates are bigger than the ones on the round image plates. They measure 1,5 cm in width, about 2 cm in length at the edge and about 1,7 cm in the middle of the full nail image. So if you have longer nails and you're not sure if they would suit your nails, you get an idea of how big they are.

Jumbo Plate, image about 2 cm in length

image about 1,7 cm in the middle of the image, curved line at the bottom of the image

image about 1,5 cm in width

Just like the small round image plates, the designs are either etched or engraved (maybe lasered? idk, again my guess...) into the metal plates and they are made of the same good quality as the small ones. All images show up very well on the nails and just like with the smaller ones I had no problems picking them up or transferring the designs.

Swatches from Jumbo Plates A and B

Swatches from Jumbo Plates C and E

Unfortunately the image plate detaches itself from the plastic plate on the corners. Not much but enough that I noticed that so I will have an eye on that.

Detaching at the corners

Another thing is that one of the plates either starts to bend or is a little bended. This does not impair their function though. I'll have an eye on that aswell...

Bending

The full nail images on plate A, B and D are curved at the bottom of the image so you can use them not only as a full nail image but also as a french tip. On plate C you can find mostly full nail images but with chiral motifs so you do not have the same image on all fingers. This is something other brands did not think of and I really like this. The plates E and I have mainly single motifs sometimes as chiral pairs. Those vary in their size. The image plates have at least 42 images and 331 nail art designs in total on them.

The only design which disappointed me a little was the one on plate A with the puzzle design. I was really looking forward to this one and well, it has round edges instead of sharp ones. It did not match the picture they have on amazon. The image works nonetheless.

Cheeky Jumbo Plate A, puzzle image, not as expected :(

The image plates are available individually or in bundles of three or six plates so you can choose and don't have to buy all of them if you don't like some.

All in all I definetly do not regret buying the image plates from Cheeky.

I hope this was helpful to you. If you have any questions please let me know and leave a comment. I'll make sure to get back to you. ;)

Silver Trophy

Hey everyone, :)

today's manicure includes my new nail polish "Trophy Wife" by essie. I don't know if I mentioned it but I really like the essie nail polishes. Except for their great selection of colors I just love the texture of the polish and with the wide flat brush it is so easy to apply it evenly.

The color was pretty hard to capture so I made a photo in artificial light and one in daylight.

essie 97 Trophy Wife, artificial light

It is such a beautiful color. The picture does not really do justice to it.

essie 97 Trophy Wife, daylight

As I did not want to cover up the whole nail with a full nail image I decided to do just a little stamping. I used Cheeky Jumbo image plate E for this. You can find the images in the bottom row.

I really like that the images are chiral so they show up on the correct side on each hand. To seal the design I used a clear top coat.

And that's it already. I chose nothing too complex concerning the stamping because the basecolor is so remarkable itself. I hope you like the manicure as much as I do.
As always if you have any questions please let me know and leave a comment.

Thanks for joining me and see you next time. :)

Tiger Paws

Hey girls,

this time I am back with a manicure. =D

The other day I was looking at my feet and when I saw my house shoes it just struck me.

A new idea was born!

And this is how it's done, step by step. ;)

Start off with your favourite basecoat to protect your natural nails. Then apply the basecolor. I chose  "690 forever" by p2.

p2 690 forever

After giving this a proper amount of time to dry I stamped the tiger print from Cheeky image plate CH2 with essence stampy polish.

I sealed that with a layer of quick drying topcoat (essence), just in case. But I am not done yet! So keep on scrolling... ;)

one coat essence quick dry topcoat

After that dried I cut some masking tape into pieces and used those pieces as a guide for creating the white french tips.

alessandro 01 Honeymoon and masking tape, but that's already gone

I let the polish set for a moment before I peeled off the masking tape. Using a dotting tool I applied the black claws on the white polish in the middle of the nail.

p2 500 eternal and a dotting tool

And because I am still not so sure what to think of matte topcoats I just used one. ^^
By the way, THIS is why I applied the "just-in-case"-layer of topcoat earlier. The matte topcoat would totally have streaked the stamped images. So it was not such a bad idea after all. :D

essence nail art special effect topper 07 soft touch

For those of you who do not like the matte look here is one with a regular shiny topcoat which is just as nice.

I can haz tiger pawz? :3

Just in case you are interested these are my house shoes... :D I don't know how I could run around in these and not realize what a cute manicure they'd make.

<3 my house shoes <3

For your information tigers do have five toes on their front paws so you can almost call the manicure authentical. xD

Usually I don't like animal prints that much because I think they tend look cheap very easily but I think I can make this one exception. I like it. :)

I hope you like today's manicure, too. ^^ As always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask and leave a comment below.

(There was something else I wanted to tell you but I forgot. |: )

See you next time. :)
